Although Bulgaria lacks large reserves of oil and gas, it produces significant quantities of electricity. Bulgaria formerly ranked as the most important exporter of electricity in the southeast Europe and a great number of potential renewable sources of energy such as solar, hydro, biomass, geothermal and wind energy potential is considered as the highest. In addition to that, telecommunications has become one of the growing industries in the country for that reason many multinational companies have set up regional offices and headquarters in Bulgaria. Last but not least is the fact that Bulgaria has started to become an attractive tourist destination because of the quality of the resorts and prices below those found in Western Europe.
